Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Electrical stimulation offered in our integrative health service is a unique technique that is used to address a muscle contraction that uses electrical impulses. To process this, we use electrodes and place those on the skin over the preset area. Electrical waves are then transmitted to the electrodes from the unit and distributed to the contraction-causing muscle. There are many techniques that we can use to optimize different types of healing.

These techniques may be utilized as strength training or post-exercise recovery tool for athletes

In medicine, EMS is used for rehabilitation purposes, for muscle atrophy,  inactivity, or neuromuscular imbalance, which can occur for example after musculoskeletal injuries (damage to bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons).
